Description & Overview

Understory thornless shrub with showy yellow flowers in May to June. Edible berries are high in antioxidants. Foliage turns crimson/gold in fall. Prefers wet areas. Although not a high risk, it has been a host for white pine blister - do not plant near Eastern White Pine. Black walnut tolerant. A single plant will produce fruit. Three to four currant plants should produce enough fruit for the average family.
