Description & Overview

Female plant that bears fruit valuable to migrating birds. Host plant of Henrys Elfin Butterfly and attracts other butterflies too! Commonly grows in damp areas throughout much of Wisconsin. Prefers rich, moist, acid soils but will tolerate average soils. Abundant red fruits hug branches on from fall into winter. Plant in groups as both male and female plants are needed for fruit set.
